KnF Trust · Legal information

Privacy Policy

How KnF Trust intends to collect, use, protect, share, and manage personal information associated with property services.

Version 1.0-draft · Draft — Pending Legal Review

1. Who is responsible for your information?

KnF Trust is a property technology platform associated with KnF Properties SARL in Cameroon. The responsible legal entity, its registered address, and the designated privacy contact must be confirmed before publication of this policy.

Privacy enquiries may be directed to info@knfproperties.com pending confirmation of a dedicated privacy contact.

2. Information we collect

Depending on the service, information may include names, usernames, email addresses, telephone numbers, account credentials, identity evidence, professional credentials, institutional affiliations, and contact preferences.

Property-related information may include addresses, geographic coordinates, parcel boundaries, survey documents, title references, ownership claims, transaction records, verification requests, disputes, and supporting evidence.

Technical information may include security logs, device and browser information, IP addresses, session information, and records of account activity.

3. Why we process information

Information may be processed to create accounts, verify contact details and identity, administer property listings, conduct authorized checks, manage payments, facilitate professional services, investigate fraud, respond to disputes, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.

Each processing activity must have an appropriate legal basis under applicable law. Consent, contractual necessity, legal obligations, and other permitted grounds must not be treated as interchangeable.

4. Identity and contact verification

KnF Trust may use email and SMS verification to confirm control of contact details. Verification codes and challenge records are security-sensitive and should be subject to expiry, access restrictions, and abuse prevention.

Delivery providers may process the destination address or telephone number and delivery-related metadata as required to transmit verification messages.

5. Property records and geographic information

Property records may contain personal information about owners, claimants, occupants, buyers, and other individuals. The existence of a property listing does not authorize unrestricted disclosure of personal documents.

KnF Trust should apply role-based access, appropriate verification requirements, and disclosure controls to sensitive ownership evidence, identity documents, and transaction information.

6. Sharing with authorities and professionals

Information may be shared with appropriately authorized surveyors, legal professionals, verification authorities, financial institutions, payment providers, and technical service providers where necessary for a requested service or another lawful purpose.

Sharing should be limited to information reasonably necessary for the recipient's role and subject to appropriate confidentiality, security, and legal controls.

7. International processing and transfers

Some hosting, messaging, email, security, or verification services may involve processing outside Cameroon.

KnF Trust must assess applicable restrictions, safeguards, service-provider agreements, and required authorizations before making international transfers. The final policy should identify relevant transfer arrangements accurately.

8. Security and fraud prevention

KnF Trust intends to use access controls, authentication, logging, encryption where appropriate, restricted database permissions, and other technical and organizational safeguards to reduce unauthorized access and misuse.

No online system can guarantee absolute security. Suspected incidents should be assessed and handled in accordance with applicable notification and remediation requirements.

9. Retention and deletion

Information should be retained only for documented purposes and appropriate periods, taking into account legal, accounting, property-record, fraud-prevention, and dispute preservation obligations.

Deleting an account may not require deletion of records that must lawfully be preserved. The final policy must specify retention periods or the criteria used to determine them.

10. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable Cameroon law, individuals may be entitled to request access, correction, objection, deletion, or other legally available measures concerning their personal information.

KnF Trust should provide a documented request process, verify the requester's identity, and explain any lawful reasons for refusing or limiting a request.

11. Cookies and session technologies

The platform may use technologies necessary for authentication, security, session continuity, and user preferences. Any nonessential analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies must be disclosed and managed according to applicable consent requirements. A cookie inventory should be completed before final publication.

12. Marketing preferences

Property news, promotional messages, and optional marketing should be distinguishable from essential account or security communications. Users should have appropriate opportunities to opt in or withdraw from optional marketing.

13. Children and vulnerable users

KnF Trust is not intended to allow persons without the necessary legal capacity to enter property transactions independently. Additional safeguards may be necessary where personal information concerns children or vulnerable persons.

14. Changes and contact

Material changes to this policy should be versioned and communicated appropriately. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to info@knfproperties.com until a dedicated contact is formally designated.

KnF Trust legal documents are subject to final review and approval before production use.
